Our STORY

We are a consulting and editing service for students between grades 7 and 12 who are seeking guidance in their application for high school programs and universities. Having recently gone through applying to universities ourselves, we understand the stress that often comes with the entire system.

After having completed our applications to post-secondary education this year, we experienced firsthand how little support students often have for applying to both Canadian and international programs. Personally, we had limited contact with guidance counsellors and heavily relied on alumni for feedback. Realizing how impactful their words could be, we hope to mentor the next several years of students in their journeys ahead.

We offer essay editing and interview preparation services to alleviate these struggles, while also providing a more flexible one-on-one consulting service to discuss next steps, live feedback, and anything related to your high school and university application needs. An avid talker with a strong case of wanderlust, she loves to explore the outdoors with her friends and camera in hand. These qualities have most notably driven Laura to seek opportunities with DECA during high school where she placed fourth (2017), first (2018) and eighth (2019) internationally.

Tom Liu

Tom liu

Tom is a member of the University of Pennsylvania Class of 2024 at the Wharton School, where he will be pursuing a concentration in finance or business economics & public policy. During his time in high school, Tom was heavily involved with DECA, where led his school in becoming the top chapter in the Toronto district and he also competed internationally as a member of the Canadian Junior National Team for badminton. In terms of difficulty, both of these activities are easily eclipsed when it comes to applying to US colleges as an international student with little to no guidance. Through Bluefin Prep, Tom aims to share his experience to help students maximize their high school experience and effectively navigate their college application journey.
